When an emergency strikes, whether it is an airport fire, an Amber Alert, an approaching hurricane, toxic chemical spill or a massive power blackout at a sports center, it is essential that situational awareness, communications and control with affected parties be established as quickly as possible. Amika Mobile has developed the world's first WiFi-integrated emergency mass notification system that can auto-discover networked user devices and targets alerts to their location, supports 2-way response and seamlessly integrates with physical systems to trigger event actions such as lockdowns.

The Amika Mobility Server (AMS) is a software platform for onpremise, cloud or hybrid operations, fully scalable for both small and large deployments up to millions of users. AMS captures, disambiguates and manages disparate events from physical security systems such as access control, fire or gas panels triggering targeted or location-based alerts to groups or en masse. AMS alerts over 20 layers including SMS, MMS, email, desktop, laptop, tablets, Smartphone pop-ups, VoIP, Callouts, Fax, paging, PA, Facebook, Twitter, RSS Feeds, etc. Mobile devices, desktops, overheads and message boards are all simultaneously alerted. AMS monitors regional weather with, NAADS or NOAA, and relays CAP alerts. AMS is ideal for communities, hospitals, airports, sports arenas, shopping centers and campuses whose visitors are not always pre-registered in a contacts database.

Amika Mobility Server Features.

Any Device on Any Network.

Broadcast alerts may be delivered to mobile phones as SMS or MMS, on mobile computers, handhelds and workstations as a pop-up window over WiFi or wired access, and on any platform as an email. In addition, text, image, or voice alerts are supported on VoIP devices, paging systems, TV tickers, etc. The AMS also supports
2-way situational feedback as needed using SMS, Email, VoIP, etc. Opt-in self registration is also supported to allow users to manage their own contact information as needed.

Auto-Discovery – Unique to Amika Mobile.

Patented auto-discovery allows administrators to locate anyone on wired or wireless networks within a campus, a building, a floor or zone even in a basement, regardless of database pre-registration of their computer, email address or phone number. In today's mobile world, auto-discovery is essential in saving lives. No need to continuously update internal contacts databases since devices can be auto-discovered on any of your deployed networks saving considerable costs. Furthermore, active directories on the network are auto-discovered and even if contact information is changed daily, the users will be alerted as needed – saving administrators valuable time.

Automatic Triggers from Event Monitoring Sensors.

Dynamically captured events from any monitoring sensor product from any vendor are automatically clustered and disambiguated to issue a single, group or mass alert as required. Such dynamic events include card access under duress, exceeded temperature thresholds, detected motion from cameras, fire panel events, etc. The dynamic events automatically trigger alerts to recipients by specific locations or team membership ensuring critical information is delivered to the correct individuals right away therefore improving response times. AMS introduces a generic integration architecture, enabling rapid integration with disparate third-party equipment and applications.

Custom and Template Alerting.

The AMS supports any type of alerts that include text, images, video or voice clips.

Web-Based Administration Console and Logs for Compliance.

The single screen browser-accessible console allows authenticated security personnel to target broadcast recipients by location (e.g. a hotspot, specific LAN groupings, in a specific campus) or by logical grouping (e.g. department, sub-domain, team). Security personnel can send location-specific broadcasts, allowing for flexible management of dangerous situations. Broadcasts are fully logged for compliance purposes.

Amika Situation Commander.

Amika Situation Commander is a new module integrated with the Amika Mobility Server (AMS). Amika Situation Commander is unique in that it assists emergency management personnel in tracking small to massive scale alert responses during a disaster where alerts may be sent and responded to by hundreds, thousands or even millions of people creating an equal number of communication threads. As end users rely more and more on their mobile phones and social media, they may respond to alerts over SMS, Email, Voice or even reply to a Pop-up from a mobile phone, tablet or desktop. Amika Situation Commander ensures that people are tracked so the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) can relay to Security personnel, Police, Fire or EMS teams locations of people who need assistance versus those that are ok based on their responses to the alerts.

  • Amika Situation Commander filters for the operator the responses from hundreds, thousands or millions of users to indicate who needs help and who is ok. It also tracks in an easy-to-use graphical interface as shown below, the percentages of recipients reached and respondents, as well as alert completion. This saves people in the EOC an enormous amount of time as they determine the scope of those affected by the emergency and rush to deploy security teams and first responders to save people’s lives who have responded needing help.
  • Amika Situation Commander is fully integrated with the Amika Mobility Server (AMS) critical & emergency communication and mass notification solution which supports massive escalation as required (live shooter, tornado, etc.) to over 20 layers of alerting while supporting 2-way communications to security teams from SMS, Email, Pop-ups (desktops, laptops, Smartphones, tablets), Voice calls, etc. As such, hundreds, thousands and millions of alert response threads can be tracked, filtered, managed and prioritized by the EOC.
  • Amika Situation Commander with AMS, Amika Panic and Amika-I-am-OK can pinpoint the location of the individual who needs help or who is safe and is OK. This is invaluable information for the EOC and the Operators as they determine where to send their precious first responder resources.

Amika Panic for Mobile and Desktops.

Amika Panic for Mobile.

Amika Panic for Mobile is a panic button app for smartphones while at work or away from work that addresses emergency communication as users mix personal and work environments in the enterprise with BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) to work. Amika Panic works in conjunction with the Amika Mobility Server (AMS) which provides complete critical and emergency communications and control enabling situational awareness, information sharing, rapid alerting across all devices and networks, and control through advanced integration with physical security to issue or trigger lockdowns on demand.

Amika Panic for Mobile Modes:

Amika Panic while at Work. This mode is fully integrated with the Amika Mobility Server (AMS) so that the panic is received as an event, where security teams as defined by the enterprise are alerted and the location of the panic user is relayed. Amika Panic also allows the end user to indicate individuals they would like contacted when they need help.

Amika I-am-OK. This mode essentially is aimed at ensuring that end users can indicate to their work and personal contacts that they are OK if a major disaster or explosion has occurred in their vicinity or when they arrive safely at their destination.

Amika Panic for Desktops.

Amika Panic for Desktops works in a similar manner to the Amika Panic for Mobile while at Work. When the end user selects the icon on their desktop, an alert is issued to the security team with the location of the end user. The security team members receive the alert at the desktop or on their respective mobile device. The panic alerts can be cleared from the administrator console once the situation is resolved. The alert includes a link to the location of the individual who issued the Amika®Panic so they can easily be found.
