M3T Corporation is proud to be an AAADM certified inspector. The American Association of Automatic Door Manufacturers (AAADM) is a trade association of power-operated automatic door manufacturers. AAADM was established in 1994 to raise public awareness and administer a program to certify automatic door inspectors. Our Inspectors are fully trained and qualified to conduct new installation, preventive maintenance, service, and annual inspections in accordance with the latest codes and current industry standards. Properly operating automatic pedestrian doors allow for the safe, uninterrupted flow of traffic as well as reduce the risk of injury.

To help keep your automatic pedestrian door systems operating properly in the most efficient manner, M3T offers annual inspections, preventive maintenance (PM) servicing, and repair/replacement of worn or outdated component parts, all by AAADM certified inspectors and in accordance to AAADM standards. How To Perform Daily Safety Checks.

These minimum safety checks, in addition to those in the Owner's Manual, should be made each day and after any loss of electrical power.

Automatic Sliding Doors
  • Walk toward the door at a normal pace. Door should open when you are about 4 feet from the door.
  • Stand motionless on threshold for at least 10 seconds. Door should not close.
  • Move clear of the area. Door should remain open for at least 1.5 seconds and should close slowly and smoothly.
  • Repeat steps 1 through 3 from other direction if door is used for two-way traffic.
  • Inspect the floor area. It should be clean with no loose parts that might cause user to trip or fall. Keep traffic path clear.
  • Inspect door's overall condition. The appropriate signage should be present.
  • Have door inspected by an AAADM certified inspector at least annually.

DO NOT USE DOOR if it fails any of these safety checks or if it malfunctions in any way. Call a qualified automatic door service company to have door repaired or serviced.



Automatic Swinging Doors
  • Walk toward the door at a normal pace. Door should open when you are about 4 feet from the door.
  • Stand motionless on threshold for at least 4 seconds. Door should not contact you.
  • Walk into the swing area and stop for 10 seconds. Door should not contact you.
  • Move clear of the area. Door should remain open for at least 1.5 seconds and should close slowly and smoothly. If two-way traffic, move toward swing side of door. Door should open well before you reach the swing path.
  • Inspect the floor area. It should be clean with no loose parts that might cause user to trip or fall. Keep traffic path clear.
  • Inspect door's overall condition. The appropriate signage should be present. Guide rails and finger guards should be in good condition.
  • Have door inspected by an AAADM certified inspector at least annually.

DO NOT USE DOOR if it fails any of these safety checks or if it malfunctions in any way. Call a qualified automatic door service company to have door repaired or serviced.



Low Energy Swinging Doors
  • Activate the door. Door should open at a slow, smooth pace (4 or more seconds), and stop without impact.
  • Door must remain fully open for a minimum of 5 seconds before beginning to close.
  • Door should close at a slow, smooth pace (4 or more seconds), and stop without impact.
  • Inspect the floor area. It should be clean with no loose parts that might cause user to trip or fall. Keep traffic path clear.
  • Inspect door's overall condition. The appropriate signage should be present and the hardware should be in good condition.
  • Have door inspected by an AAADM certified inspector at least annually.

DO NOT USE DOOR if it fails any of these safety checks or if it malfunctions in any way. Call a qualified automatic door service company to have door repaired or serviced.



Automatic Folding Doors
  • Walk toward the door at a normal pace. The door should open when you are about 4 feet from the door.
  • Stand motionless on threshold for at least 4 seconds. The door should not close.
  • Continue walking into the fold area and stop. Stand motionless for at least 10 seconds. Door should remain open.
  • Move clear of the area. The door should remain open for at least 1.5 seconds and should close slowly and smoothly. If two-way traffic, move toward fold side of door. Door should open well before you reach the fold path.
  • Inspect the floor area. It should be clean with no loose parts that might cause user to trip or fall. Keep traffic path clear.
  • Inspect door's overall condition. The appropriate signage should be present. Guide rails and finger guards should be in good condition.
  • Have door inspected by an AAADM certified inspector at least annually.

DO NOT USE DOOR if it fails any of these safety checks or if it malfunctions in any way. Call a qualified automatic door service company to have door repaired or serviced.

AAADM Certified Inspections are recommended, at a minimum, on an annual basis for a wide range of safety and liability reasons.
